Malaysia Photo Diary

Kuala Lumpur and Malacca/Melaka

 Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur

 Melaka :)

Ranie and Joel :)

Last May, I went to Kuala Lumpur and met with college friends Joel and Ranie. We walked around the city, saw Petronas Towers etc. and toured Melaka/Malacca, the historical city centre which has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 7 July 2008. We didn't stay long in Malaysia as our main destination was Singapore. Joel is my college friend and my companion during this trip. I have been to Singapore with Mark last January but Joel's father asked if I could accompany his son. Joel has never been around Asia except South Korea, and Joel's dad didn't want to go back to Singapore. I've been meeting Joel and his dad in Davao a couple of times and they have been very gracious hosts. Joel has been really nice and patient during the trip. Thanks a lot, buddy! :)

Ranie, on the other hand, is my batch mate from college. He is currently in Kuala Lumpur for his job as a Research and Documentation Specialist. He has been meeting with some of our friends and batch mates from UPLB and has been touring them around Malaysia, even booking flights and hotels for them. We contacted him through Facebook and we met in front of Petronas after our Melaka trip. We were a bit late because of the heavy traffic. I'm really sorry for that! He showed us a good place to eat and continued discussing about Malaysian culture and politics. He's a really nice guy and is a good traveling companion. Thanks again! :D Check out his blog entry about touring people in Malaysia:http://www.fk-world.com/en/Blog/My-Blog/?userId=5843&entryId=25641
That's it for now!
