Make Up For Ever Face and Body Liquid Make Up Review

Hello! I will be reviewing one of my faves, lightweight foundation I use for photoshoots: Make Up For Ever Face & Body Liquid Make Up
This is the most used foundation in our class in Maquillage Professionnel at The Fort.

I actually bought this for a photoshoot HERE for Chalk Magazine's Managing Editor, Elaine Carag so the nearest color to her skin and surprisingly mine's is #34
It's a mixture of gel and water so there are bumps
As you can see, it's very thin and light. Best to use fingers when applying since it starts a bit watery but easily gets tacky so you really need to spread it well upon application.
Since it's very light and watery, expect it to be streaky. Also, you have to shake the bottle well before you use it. It blends well and you can really build up the coverage when needed since it's super light. It doesn't feel like you have make-up on.
2:45PM natural light with MUFE Face & Body Liquid Make Up, MAC concealer and MAC pressed powder. Dressing up for some girl session with my girlfriends.
7:28PM after around 5 hours with no retouch under florescent light. MUFE is still holding up. Take note, my skin is very "acidic" meaning make-up does not stay long on my face. My skin is neither oily nor dry at the moment.
7:25PM: MUFE Face and Body Liquid Make Up with flash  under florescent light, no retouch since 3PM. Eep! It has a tiny bit of bluish undertone but it's okay.  The foundation is holding up well maybe because I was in an air conditioned mall and I didn't sweat a lot.
Item: Make Up For Ever Face & Body Liquid Make Up
Price: P1,700 for 50ml
Color: #34 or Honey Beige
Claims:
This waterproof, ultra-light, water-based gel contains no emulsifiers and provides a totally natural, satin finish. Ideal for normal skin-types as well as for fine lines and large pores. Gives skin a uniform tone without accentuating imperfections.

Ingredients:

Aqua, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Cycolentasiloxane, Methylpropanediol, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Mangifera Indica Seed Oil (Mango Seed Butter), Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Tetrasodium EDTA, Fragrance, PEG-8, Phenoxyethanol, Tromethamine, Potassium Myristate, Chlorphenesin, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Caprylyl Glycol, Sodium Polyacrylate, Panthenol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Citronnellol, Geraniol, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Linalool, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionene. May Contain: CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), CI 777493 (Iron Oxides), CI 77492 (Iron Oxides), CI 77499 (Iron Oxides).

Pros:
-Super lightweight, almost as if you're not wearing make up
-Blended well on my skin tone
-Easy application
-Nice packaging, pump is very helpful as it does not waste the product
-Coverage is good
-Lasted til night
-Easy to wash off
-Worked well with my other make-up
-Smells good
-Has a dewy, glowy finish
-Good for everyday use
-You can really build up the coverage.
-Has wide selection of colors depending on your skin tone
-If you want sheer-to-medium or flexible coverage, this foundation is for you.
-Has the "no-make up" look
-It's a bit scented but the smell is not too strong.

Cons:
-If you really have bad skin and would want maximum coverage, then you need to apply more product as this is very light/sheer.
-Since it's very light and watery, expect it to be streaky.
- You need to start dabbing, not dragging in order to build the foundation.
-Fingers are really preferred for application so if you're not comfortable with that, you'll have a hard time using your brushes as it gets tacky and a bit streaky.
-Product may start clumping. In the bottle, the foundation may look like water is separating from oil or cream.
-For outdoor photoshoots, this foundation can be a bit tricky as it tends to fade easily under heat and sweat, so I really needed to reapply more.

Verdict:  I really like this since it gives me a no make-up look and feel. It's really light on the skin and doesn't feel cakey at all. This is value for your money since the bottle holds a lot and if you're not the oily type, you don't need to reapply the product too much.  I will buy this again for indoor photoshoots and for personal use.

Hope this helped!
x

  1. For a 50ml product, Php 1,700 seems reasonable. This is a good review.

Still haven't decided if I'll get the MAC face and body or this one.

    1. It just takes a lot of practice... I'm a painter so I have steady hands I guess :) Also if you're having a hard time, use pencil liner to outline the shape of your eyeliner first :)

  3. I think 1, 700 for a 50ml bottle is quite expensive. Nice review though.
